Jefferson Post Office
Many buildings around Jefferson have fascinating building details. If you look on the south side of the Post Office as you are climbing up the stairs to the front door, you can see a molding of what seems to be an airplane motor and propeller, although it could be a symbol for many other things. The Jefferson Post Office is located in the 100 block of W. Harrison St. It was built in 1936-’37 at a cost of $52,770. First postmaster was Lilly Gibbons.
