Smithsonian “Hometown Teams” exhibit at our museum
August 11 - September 23Free
The Greene County Historical Society is partnering with the Jefferson Matters Main Street organization to host a highly unusual exhibit at our museum Aug. 11-Sept. 23. It is a “Hometown Teams” exhibit, prepared and sent nationally by the Smithsonian Institution, to examine the role of sports in our culture and society.
In addition all the communities and schools (past and present) in the county have been invited to have tables at the museum displaying memorabilia and stories of their own sports and other school activities.
Admission is free, and here are the hours for the public:
Saturdays – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sundays – Noon to 6 p.m.
Wednesdays – 1 to 6 p.m.
Thursdays – 3 to 9 p.m.
